We've had a couple very bad electrical storms go through. No fun. But, no damage so that's good.
I arrived home one day to find people on my front lawn in Star Trek uniforms. I was told my look, even behind my shades, was priceless. It was the husband of the lady I just dropped off from work (we work at the same place) and one of their children, my step dad and mother. Apparently one of the local news stations wanted to interview the local Star Trek club about the news of James Doohan passing away (Scotty from the original series,) and since no one else could fit into their uniforms (sloth will do that to a person . . . ) and since the afformentioned people were the only ones, they chose my front lawn for the shoot . . . And, of course, just home from 9 hours and looking like Hell itself (and still carrying this damned bronchial asthma,) I poured into my shirt and went out. They got a couple of good shots of me (and being overweight I do NOT take good pictures . . . ) and as soon as I can, I'm going to get it recorded onto my machine and make it available for those who want to see it (and maybe have a good laugh or two at me . . . )
Work is picking up. I'm getting my full hours. I have enough staff on my side that I don't have to lift the heavy stuff anymore. I am going deaf in my right ear. Just as soon as I can find the free ear clinic I'm going in to see how much of my hearing I've lost and get it measured the next year to see how much per year I'm losing and estimate when I'll go deaf in that ear . . . Just goes to show you what headsets can do to a person . . .
Other than that, not much else. Going to revamp my room (when I get the energy,) scanning in my Rockman manga to be translated (I might even get enterprising enough to actually start work again on the X7 4koma manga since I wouldn't feel so pressured at having a deadline, self imposed or not, to get something done on time.)
Zephyre died. I noticed he was floating and gasping at the top of his tank. I moved him to the medical tank (my small 1/2 gallon tank), medicated the water and watched as he slowly tried to sink. He couldn't. I suspect swim bladder (too much air in his body so he couldn't sink.) He died the next morning.
I'm working on reformatting the first two parts to my major fic (that was beta'd way back in May . . . ) I also want to get back to writing it since I have so many ideas but when I sit down, poof, there goes the energy/inspiration to do it. Same goes for art (or going to SA/DA and seeing what's new, commenting, saving to fav status or actually posting some of my photos >.< damned lack of energy >shakes fist<)
The only other noteworthy thing is . . . I want to go to Otakon next year. Chances of that 0%. Some financial fairy is going to have to majorly bless me to be able to do it. But, I can get to PortCon next year (a three hour drive for me, Otakon will be about a 10 hour drive.) Price so far is . . . PortCon - 3 days at the con $25 each person (I'd be paying for three people.) Room rate - 4 days (get there Thursday, Fri - Sun the show and book it back home Sunday after the con) - for 3 people, no con discount, no handicapped accesibility, no AAA or other discounts - almost $1,000 >dies< And that doesn't include food, gas (I can make it easily enough on one tank down and back and down and back again ^^ Man, I love my van ^_^) Otakon, however, stacks up like this. 3 days at the con (mind you, the same people would be going and they are too poor to pay their way so I get to foot all the bills) $165 for the con and $700 for the room (if I figured it out right since it wouldn't give me the dates for the 2006 Otakon - Thurs check in, Fri - Sun show, Mon check out.) . . . If that's true . . . then Otakon would be CHEAPER than PortCon . . . Go fig >scratches head< PortCon has a cap of 1,000 . . . no bands, only local or regional people . . . Otakon has a cap of 22,000 and THE WORKS . . . Maybe I'll skip PortCon and go to Otakon instead . . . only problem is, I'll need to book a room ahead and I won't know if I'll have the money to cover it or not . . . >scratches her head again< We'll just have to wait and see.

Heh, I won't laugh at you! And the people who do will get a taste of my buster cannon! ...kidding. It is cool to see a friend on tv if only for a few short seconds...
Yay for more hours... I don't put my headphones on much anymore, they're kind of loud and bulky. Even at low volume I could hear the music blasting from my desk at home... I'd imagine how much damage that could be done on my ears. But yeah, having to use a headset every day as part of your job with people yelling into your ear would be kind of harmful...
*gives you more energy than you could possible need ever*
No... not Zephyre too...
I haven't had the energy to write any story, even if it's editing someone's for fun. I don't know what's wrong with me, maybe I'm stressed about something. I have tons of ideas too! I just can't get them down on paper or anything (in any form that I could actually read...) As for SA and DA, I haven't taken a peek in a few weeks... it's hard keeping up with things as it is.
Maybe you should go to Otakon instead. That would allow you to save up more since it's cheaper, though you'd probably have to stop at a hotel along the way there. Whatever way you can squeeze in, I say go for it. Definitely go to a convention! Don't be like me who probably won't unless I get a car of my own, an apartment away from my parents who won't let me go, and a good job so I can save up.
